Criteria
Description
Quality of Education
  • Maryville offers a variety of different career options.  They are known for their nursing program.
  • If I would attend Maryville University, I would recieve a good education, especially if I were to major in Nursing or another type of health profession.
Location
  • Maryville is located in St. Louis, Missouri.
  • The location of this school is great only because it is less that two minutes from my home.  I would definitely want to experience college life, as in living in dormitories or sororities throughout college.
Size, Diversity
  • Maryville University has approximately 3,400 students enrolled.
  • I am not sure if I would like to attend a school with only 3,400 people, but a smaller community would also be good for me.
Scholarships
  • Maryville offers a variety of scholarships.  The criteria that must be met is to have at least a 28 on the ACT and a High School GPA of a 3.5-4.0.  An interview would be needed to further the scholarship opportunity process.
  • With hardwork, determination, and practice, I will strive to achieve my best score possible on the ACT.  Even if my score would not be good enough to recieve a scholarship, I would still consider attending the school.

Athletics
  • Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, and Tennis are just some of the athletics offered at Maryville.  Although Maryville is not a Division I Athletics school, I would not mind attending.
  • If I were to be accepted into Maryville, I would want to play golf.
Majors Offered
  • Maryville offers majors in all different areas.  Some of which are Business, Education, and Health Care.
  • I would like to major in Education and Health Care because of my interest in teaching others and in helping others.
Tuition
  • Due to Maryville being a private, in-state school, tuition is quite expensive.  That is why recieving a scholarship would be helpful.  The tuition is approximately $29,279.
  • Compared to a public, in-state school, it is farely more expensive.  If I would recieve a better education, I would not mind spending more for a better education.
My Eligibility
  • I will have enough credits to attend and a variety of activites that would be present on my application.
Coed vs. Single-sex
  • Maryville is a coed university.
  • I do prefer attending a coed university because I know it will be more diverse.

Public/Private

  • Maryville is a private college.
  • Although I am not completely "sold" on going to a private university, I really enjoy what Maryville has to offer.  Also, attending a university with fewer students may suite me best.
